Aiya!

Welcome to History of Middle Earth!

I'm your new professor, Eyre Lasgalen.  I've taken over this class from my good friend, the now departed Professor Neverwhere.  I'm very excited to be teaching this class, as I consider myself a true "Tolkien Junkie" and hope that in teching this class, I can also learn a lot.

I know that it's late in the term, therefore, we will only have time for 4 lessons and an exam.  The first lesson will be posted February 1st.  This gives me time to propperly prepare a lesson for you.

Until then, I invite and urge you to join the MSN group and look around this site.  You are expected to read the Class Expectations and you have to join the MSN group to be considered active.  I'm incredibly busy right now and I unfortunately don't have the time to email 100 students to see if everyone still wants to participate in the class.  By joining the MSN group or emailing me if you can't, you are confirming to me that you want to be in the class.  This is the one thing that I ask of you all.

Well, I suppose that's about it.  Until the class begins, why not join the MSN group and start a convesation with your class mates?

Thank you to all of my participating students, for making this a great class!  I'm sorry that I didn't get to do all the things that I wanted to do.  I hope that you have enjoyed the class and that you've learned something.

Don't forget that you HAVE TO DO THE FINAL EXAM.

Cheers!

" 'Mercy!' Cried Gandalf.  'If the giving of information is to be the cure of your inquisitiveness, I shall spend the rest of my days in answering you.  What more do you want to know?'
'The names of all the stars, and of all living things, and the whole history of Middle Earth and Over-heaven and of the Sundering Seas,' laughed Pippin.  'Of course!  What less?'..."
